HONOLULU, HI --  HEMIC Insurance Managers, Inc. (HIMI), a subsidiary of Hawaii Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company (HEMIC), now has the authority to underwrite Excess & Surplus Property on behalf of Lloyd’s of London, the world’s leading insurance market.

David Doehm, President of HIMI, said that extending our existing coverholder status with Lloyd’s allows us to bring additional insurance options to our agents and the property owners of Hawaii.   

“With a direct relationship with Lloyd’s we have expanded our portfolio of insurance programs in response to the Hawaiian marketplace in a special and meaningful way.” Doehm said.  “Our plan is to continue expanding HIMI’s services by offering our agents access to more underwriting facilities on which we have binding authority.”

Doehm said HIMI also underwrites its Employment Practices Liability Insurance program through certain underwriters at Lloyd’s.  The program offers coverage to Hawaii’s employers and can be secured through HIMI’s agency sales force. HIMI’s other programs include property and liability coverage for contractors, personal accident insurance,  a broad range of Excess and Surplus Liability on a contract binding and brokerage basis and all lines coverage for Human Services Organizations, including Directors and Officers insurance.
